The HD 150 uses a capacitive sensing element to make relative humidity measurements. A capacitive polymer layer inside the probe reacts with humidity which occurs between 2 metal layers that cover a glass substract. Water absorption, which is a function of (RH) relative humidity in the immediate environment changes the dielectric constant. The signal measured is directly proportionnal with relative humidity & is dependent on atmospheric pressure.
